Walker Consultants provided parking and surface transportation planning services to Rogue Valley International—Medford Airport (MFR), which wanted to be prepared for an expected doubling of its passenger traffic in the next 20 years.

Walker analyzed parking supply and demand for various user groups, including short- and long-term passengers, employees, and rental cars. Walker also considered how terminal curb space was used by ride hailing app vehicles, taxis, and buses.

Walker then projected future demand for parking, terminal curbside needs, and airport roadways. We laid out various alternatives to handle this demand, from non-build parking management options to expansion of parking capacity. These alternatives included relocation and functional redesign of the ride app areas, along with preliminary financial projections for each option.
